We have great news to share! MAMA Art Collective is opening a new space in Roswell. We couldn’t be more thrilled and owe all of our thanks to the hard work of MAMA Sarah Anderson and her partner Katrina Singletary. They spent the summer talking with women in the community, meeting, planning and scouring the town for a space. Their commitment to making this happen has really inspired us and deepened our belief in the MAMA mission. Through this project, we’ve also come up with a basic set of organizing principles for our MAMA spaces:
Everyone who participates is required to pay dues and participate in the co-operative childcare. We believe that at the core, MAMA is a holistic model that incorporates both aspects.
Everyone who is an active member can participate in art shows, events, selling/craft fair opportunities
We are an inclusive, open minded, secular organization.
The Roswell group will meet on Friday mornings at Tapestry Community Church. While an “opening day” hasn’t been nailed down yet, Sarah and Katrina hope to hold their first work day mid-September.
