Rachel spent the morning stitching the zipper into this sweater. It’s for her son and she started when he was just a few months old.
Being the wise woman she is, she knew it might take some time to finish and sized it for a preschooler. Not because she is a slow knitter (we can all attest to her industriousness and dedication…she cranked out the most handmade, hand woven, hand knit holiday presents I have ever seen), but because when you have kids everything shifts in both expected and unexpected ways.
We were so excited to see this project come to a close this morning. And it is especially fun to share that moment with friends and women who know what it means to hand knit a sweater for your child for four years. That project has a lot of love in it.
